Last day in Stockholm

Another busy day. Visited the City Hall and you'd be forgiven for thinking " Why would you?" Most city halls wouldn't be in the 'must see' division.  But Stockholm City Hall is a striking and unique building and certainly impressive. You have to go on a guided tour, which was worth it to explain the reasons behind the architect's ideas and decisions.

Next stop the Medieval Museum situated underneath Norrbro. Part of the original city walls were found here and the Museum was built around them.

A short walk to the Royal Palace to view the State apartments and the Chapel. There were so many steep stairs, I gave up after a few rooms and the ornate Chapel. I think I'm getting a bit blase about palaces, although I'm keen to see Buckingham Palace.

Jenn kindly invited us to her lovely apartment for our last dinner in Stockholm. She has a pretty, leafy view of the water. Taxi there and back.

Flying to Riga, Latvia, tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping the WiFi there is as good as it's been here.
